Program and Abstracts
The International Society of Hymenopterists gladly invites hymenopterists from all over the world, to the 7th International Congress of Hymenopterists in Kőszeg, Hungary, June 20-26, 2010.
Main topics: Behavior, Biodiversity, Biological Control (posters only), Biology, Conservation, Ecology, Host-Parasitoid Interactions, Morphology, Systematics, Phylogeography.
The congress will be held in the Hotel Irottkő, in the small and beautiful, medieval town of Kőszeg, located in the most western corner of the country, at the Austrian border. See photos below.

I. Accommodation and food
Fees indicated below are estimated prices.
1000 Hungarian Forint were about $4 and 3.20 Euro in March 2009, down from $7 and €4.30 in summer 2008.Single room: 28 000 HUF/Room/Night/Person
Double room: 22 000 HUF/Room/Night/Person
&tea breaks; tourism tax; wellness section; wireless internet access, 4 conference rooms (with audio and visual equipment, poster boards, etc).
The number of single rooms is limited, so room sharing is appreciated.
Parking in Kőszeg during the congress for all participants will be free.
II. Congress Programme
June 20. (Sunday)afternoon) will collect people in Vienna. Those who will fly or take a train to Budapest will be also taken by organizers to Kőszeg.
June 21. (Monday)
Registration till 9:00. Welcome and Opening. Talks. Welcome Reception.
June 22-23. (Tuesday and Wednesday)
Talks from at 8:40 till 17:40.
June 24. (Thursday)
A whole-day excursion in Fertő-Hanság National Park:
- 2.5 hour guided canoe trip on Fert_ Lake reed channels;
- 2.5 hour guided tour along saline lakes;
- Sopron town or insect collecting;
- evening grill party in Kőszeg Mnt.
Talks, Business Meeting, Congress Dinner.
June 26 (Saturday)
Departure (shuttles will take people to Schwechat Intl Airport, Vienna or to Budapest. Post-congress events starting.
III. Post-Congress Events
1. Work at the Natural History Museum in Budapest or Vienna.2. Post-Congress Insect Collecting.
On Tuesday morning a shuttle will take people to Vienna and/or Budapest for departure.
IV. Programmes for accompanying persons
June 21. (Monday)Balaton Lake: Keszthely (castle museum, carriage museum, walk in downtown); Badacsony (lunch, souvenir shopping); Tihany peninsula, visiting the famous Tihany abbey. Welcome reception.
June 22. (Tuesday)
Budapest whole day, with English language guide.
June 23. (Wednesday)
Vienna whole day, with English language guide
June 24. (Thursday)
ág National Park.
June 25. (Friday)
Pannonhalma Abbey and abbey wine cellars. Congress Dinner.
June 26. (Saturday)
Departure or staying for post-congress events. No special programmes for companions.

COLLECTING AREAS




We will do some collecting in Fertő-Hanság National Park on the excursion on Thursday.

Kőszeg Mountains, Bakony Mountains and Örseg National Park will be visited in the after-congress collecting trip.
